AI agents & automation

Software that does the task, not just describes it — routing enquiries, chasing quotes, reconciling records and escalating what needs a human.

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is software that pursues a goal across multiple steps, using tools and systems on its own rather than answering one question at a time. A support agent can read a ticket, look up an order, draft a reply, and escalate when confidence is low — completing the task instead of describing it.

Where agents earn their keep

The work worth automating is usually the work nobody wants to describe: the twelve-step process that lives in one person's head, the queue that grows every Monday, the reconciliation that eats a day each month. Agents are good at exactly this — bounded, repetitive, judgement-light work that still needs to touch several systems.

They are bad at anything where being wrong is expensive and unverifiable. So we design for a confidence threshold and a human escalation path from the first sprint, and we instrument everything so you can see what the agent did and why.

Frequently asked

Questions we get about this

Will an agent replace our team?

In practice it absorbs the queue, not the job. The pattern we see is the same headcount handling materially more volume, with the tedious portion removed. We scope against throughput and error rate rather than headcount reduction, because that is what actually holds up under measurement.

What happens when the agent gets it wrong?

It escalates. Every agent we build has a confidence threshold, a defined handoff, and a log of what it did. Silent failure is the thing that kills trust in these systems, so we design against it before we design for coverage.

Can it work with our existing software?

That is usually the whole job. Agents connect through APIs, databases, email and messaging platforms. Where a system has no API, there are still options — but we will tell you honestly if an integration is going to cost more than the automation saves.
