Accessibility statement

Our commitment

We build accessible interfaces for clients, including public bodies with GIGW 3.0 obligations. Applying a lower standard to our own site would be difficult to defend, so this site is held to the same requirement.

Accessibility here is a build standard applied from design, not an audit run before launch.

Conformance

This site aims to conform with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. Measures in place include:

• Semantic HTML structure with correct heading order and landmarks
• Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator throughout
• Skip-to-content link on every page
• Text contrast meeting or exceeding 4.5:1, and interface contrast 3:1
• Descriptive alternative text and accessible names on interactive controls
• Text resizing to 200% without loss of content or function
• Reduced-motion preference respected — animation stops when requested
• Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels on mobile
• Form fields with associated labels and errors announced to assistive technology

How we tested

• Automated scanning with axe DevTools across page templates
• Manual keyboard-only navigation of every interactive component
• Screen reader testing with NVDA
• Contrast verification of all colour combinations in the design system
• Testing at 200% zoom and on small-screen breakpoints

Known limitations

We would rather list these than claim perfection.

• The Google Maps embed on the contact page is third-party content whose accessibility we do not control. The full address is given in text immediately above it, and a plain link to Google Maps is provided.
• Generated diagrams carry text alternatives describing the process, but complex diagrams may not convey every relationship to a screen reader user. Every diagram's content is also stated in the accompanying text.
• Embedded third-party content in future blog posts may not meet the same standard. We will note it where that applies.
