Program management (PMO)
Someone accountable for the whole programme — dependencies tracked, risks surfaced early, and status reports that say the difficult thing.
Someone accountable for the whole programme — dependencies tracked, risks surfaced early, and status reports that say the difficult thing.
A programme management office coordinates delivery across multiple teams and vendors: tracking dependencies, managing risks, running governance, and reporting status accurately to sponsors. It exists to make sure the parts of a programme arrive in an order that works.
Programmes rarely fail suddenly. They fail slowly while every status report says green, because reporting a risk feels like admitting fault and nobody wants to be first. By the time the report turns red, the options are expensive.
Useful programme management makes bad news cheap to deliver. Risks are raised early without blame, dependencies are visible before they bite, and the status a sponsor reads reflects what the delivery team actually believes.
Scope, timeline, budget and what is genuinely committed.
Across teams and vendors, with owners for each.
Cadence, escalation paths and decision rights.
Registered, owned, and reviewed rather than logged.
Status the delivery team recognises as accurate.
Retained for the programme duration, sized from part-time oversight to embedded full-time management.
Stack decisions follow the problem. This is where we usually start, not a fixed menu.
Coordination above individual projects. Project managers optimise their own delivery; a PMO manages the dependencies between them and the sequencing of the whole. On a single project it is unnecessary overhead, and we will say so.
Yes, and it is a common reason to bring us in. We manage to the contract you have, and where the contract itself is the problem we will tell you rather than working around it indefinitely.
A discovery call is a working session on your constraint, not a sales pitch.
A short note is enough. You'll hear back from the team, not a bot — usually within one working day.
