What is a discovery call?
A discovery call is a 45-minute working session on your problem: what you are trying to achieve, what constrains it, and what has already been tried. It produces a clear view of whether and how we could help, and carries no obligation.
What we will ask
Mostly questions about the problem rather than the solution. What triggered this, what happens if nothing changes, who is affected, what has been tried, and what would count as success.
- What are you trying to achieve, in operational terms?
- What is the cost of the current situation continuing?
- What has been attempted, and why did it not hold?
- Who inside your organisation has to be brought along?
- What constrains this — budget, timeline, systems, skills?
- How would you know, six months on, that it worked?
What you will get
An honest view of whether this is a problem we are well placed to solve. Sometimes the answer is a different approach entirely, or a process fix that needs no software. We would rather say that on the first call than discover it in month three.

- An indication of the shape and rough scale of the work
- The likely engagement model and next step
- Where relevant, an honest recommendation to do something else

Yes. Paid work starts at assessment or delivery, not at conversation. A call that ends with us saying we are not the right fit has cost you forty-five minutes and saved you considerably more.
Do we need a defined brief first?
No. Arriving with an unclear problem is common and completely workable — framing it is part of what the call is for.
